| A JPod is a small, efficient, safe, computer driven vehicle designed to transport people and cargo. A JPod runs suspended from an overhead rail. The entire network applies existing technolgies in new ways forming an interconnected network of Horizontal Elevators ™. |
Message from jPods' President, Bill James
Welcome to JPods and thank you for visiting our website.
I want to take a moment to share with you our transportation vision. We at JPods, LLC believe in the financial value and environmental necessity of automating repetitive travel- to and from the grocery store, kids to school and back, to and from work, etcetera.
Have you stopped to think that for over half a century there has been no serious improvement in the way we humans move ourselves from Point A to Point B? Since the close of the Second World War we’ve systematically improved existing modes of transport; better, safer automobiles, larger, faster airplanes and trains. Until now the basic assumptions about how we go from Point A to Point B have not been challenged in any meaningful way.

The Premise
It costs less to move less…
The premise of JPods and personal rapid transit (PRT) is grounded in simple physics. If energy costs money, it costs less to move less. Cars, buses, and trains are extraordinarily inefficient modes of transport. By moving only what’s necessary, i.e. people or cargo and dramatically reducing waste, there is not only cost savings but also profit potential.

Why Personal Automated Mobility?
- It costs less to move less. Currently we use energy, pay for infrastructure, and create congestion, moving a ton (or more) to move a person.
- Ultra-light JPods approach moving only the person. Infrastructure costs are a fraction of heavy infrastructure like roads or rail.
- There is a profit of $0.27 per passenger mile on a potential 4 billion passenger miles per day.
- Reduce congestion. Congestion costs every worker a work week per year. JPods operate in a different vertical plane than current congestion. Their ultra-light nature allows capacity expansion within the same existing right of way. Computer control adjusts JPod traffic to eliminate conflicts before they happen.
